ABOUT TREY

Trey Radel is an author, actor, journalist, TV and radio show host, and a former member  of Congress.

Radel's books include DEMOCRAZY, a True Story of Weird Politics, Money, Madness, and Finger Food, described by Huffington Post as "a brutally honest, outrageous memoir" which exposes "how the Washington sausage really gets made," and Beyond the Great Divide: How a Nation Became a Neighborhood. The latter Radel coauthored with former New York Governor George Pataki, who was in office during the September 11 attacks. The book shares heartbreaking and inspirational behind-the-scenes stories from that horrific day. Pataki also assesses the political fallout since, asking a provocative question: “Did the terrorists win?”

As a fun gag-gift (but with some seriously serious undertones), Radel self-published Conservatism Made Really F***ing Easy. It's on Amazon with his other books; here's a funny video describing it (if you're easily offended, do not click).

Before authoring books, Radel built a successful career in media, working as a journalist, reporting and anchoring television news. He also built and eventually sold a community newspaper to the E.W. Scripps Company.

Passionate about our country and politics, Radel later ran for the United States Congress. The underdog won big, building a massive coalition of people cutting across generational, ethnic, and cultural lines.

Fluent in English, Spanish and Italian, Radel has lived in, worked in, or backpacked through nearly fifty countries around the world, sometimes living off just 10-bucks a day. His love for people, places, and especially foreign cultures has taken him from South America to Southeast Asia and about everywhere in between.

Radel studied improv comedy at Second City in Chicago. Currently, as an occasional actor, Radel has had roles on the Sony owned app, Crackle, and the Discovery Network.
